Angelina Jolie is a powerful and one of the most popular actress and director, she has gained many awards for her great performance in American film, she earned an Academy Award, three Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards. According to Forbes, Angelina Jolie is one of the actresses who was paid high amount of money for acting in films in 2009 and 2011. Angelina Jolie is also a social worker; she works for the refugees as a special Envoy and former Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR. Her beauty and skill of acting often attracts media attention.

Angelina Jolie starts acting in 1982 film Lookin' to Get Out, a role as a child. Her father also acted in
that film but her film career starts 1993 film Cyborg 2, which was a small-budget film. In 1995 she played a lead role in the film Hackers which was her first major role in film. In 1997 she starred in the biographical television films George Wallace which was critically acclaimed and in 1998 she starred in Gia. In1999 she won an Academy Award for the best supporting Actress for her performance in the drama Girl, Interrupted.

Parents and relatives

Angelina Jolie was born in Los Angeles, California. Her father’s name is Jon Voight. He is an actor. His mother’s name is Marcheline Bertrand. Marcheline is the sister of actor James Haven. She has adopted 2 sons Maddox Chivan, Pax Thien and a daughter, Zahara Marley and she is a mother of Shiloh Nouvel (born on 27th May 2006), twin Knox Leon, son and Vivienne Marcheline, girl (born 12th July 2008). 

Early adulthood

Angelina Jolie’s parents’ got separation in 1976. Jolie and her brother lived with their mother. Angelina Jolie’s mother gave up her ambition of acting to raising her children. Angelina Jolie use to watch movies with her mother from her childhood. Later this habit inspired her to become an actress. At the age of six her parents (mother and stepfather Bill Day) move to Palisades which is in New York and after five years they came back to Los Angeles. After Angelina Jolie returned to New York she decided to be an actress. She starts training in Lee strasberg Theatres Institute. During her two years training period she took part in many roles in theater.

When she was fourteen Angelina Jolie stop her acting classes and began her work as a fashion model. She mainly modeled in Los Angeles, New York and London. In the glamour world she ware black dresses and went out with her boyfriend. She rented a home near her mother’s home. After completing her high school graduation she starts in theater studies.

In her early adulthood and early twenties Angelina Jolie has suffered from depression for which she use to cut herself. She said that she use to collect knives and certain things around for cutting herself and feel the pain which make her feel alive and give mental satisfaction. At the age of twenty she became drug addicted. She used all kind of drugs even she use heroin.

Angelina Jolie’s father marital infidelity and her parents divorce put difficulty in the relation ship between Jolie and her father as a result she broke relationship for many years. In 2001 Tomb Raider she acted with her father but after that their relationship was again deteriorated. In 17th January 2007 Angelina jolie’s mother died of cancer (ovarian) and six year later the relationship with her father became strong.

Film career

Angelina Jolie starts her career by acting in 1982, film named Lookin’ to Got out. She played a small part in that film and her father played the main role. When she was sixteen she competed in many film auditions but failed. Her film fell into difficulty in competing with other girls. But she acted in her brother’s five student films.

Angelina Jolie was inspired to act in films by her father. She observed her father and found the how to observe people and become like them.

In 1993 Angelina Jolie starred in the film Cyborg 2. She plays the role of Casella which was her first lead role in film but she was not satisfied for with that film and out of disappointment she kept herself out of acting for a year. In 1995 she acted in the film Without Evidence and Hackers. Her film Hackers failed to make profit.

After that in 1996 she acted in the film Love Is All There Is. She played the role of Gina Malacici. Personal life and relations

At the age of fourteen Angelina Jolie has many boy friends and she use to hangover with her boy friends on the streets and even lived with her boyfriend in her bedroom. She said that her mother use to allowed her boy friends in their home. She also said that she became reckless on the street with her boyfriend or going to her bedroom. She continued her relationship with boy friend until she was twenty.

In 1995 Angelina Jolie starts romance with British actor Jonny Lee during filming of Hackers. Jonny was her first love she had relationship since she was fourteen. They got separated from each other for many months. After the reunion in that film they repair their relationship and got married on 28th March 1996. But their marriage lasted for few months and separated on September 1997 and got divorced on 3rd February 1999. But Angelina Jolie said that Jonny lee is a good husband and she love him and always love will love him and their relation broke because of their immature age (Young age).


Angelina Jolie had relation with Jenny Shimizu in 1996 on foxfire set. She said that she probably have married Jenny if she had not married. She also said that she felt love with her at the first time while she met her. She also said that she was bisexual.

Angelina Jolie married Billy Bob Thornton on 5th May 2000. Billy Bob is an actor and the couple married in Las Vegas. But Billy was engaged with actress Laura Dern. The frequently declared publicly about their passion and gesture of love and wore one another’s blood in vials around their necks which became most popular for the media at that time but their relation broke quickly and they got separated. 27th May 2003 they finally got divorced. About their sudden divorce Angelina said that She was also surprised for her divorced because suddenly they got changed and suddenly they realized that they had nothing in similarity.


On 2005 Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt met each other while filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith. She starts relationship with Brae Pitt which leads to a divorce of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston but Angelina Jolie denied her relationship with Pitt. Later she admitted that they had fallen in love on that set but they didn’t define their relationship. Later Angelina Jolie admitted their relationship and publicly said that she was pregnant and carrying Brad Pitt’s child. On April 2012 Brad and Angelina announced that they have engaged.

Angelina Jolie had adopted 2 sons and a daughter. The name of her first adopted son is Maddox Chivan when Billy Boy was still her husband. Then in 6th July 2005 she adopted Zahara Marley. Zahara was six-month at that time. At the time of her adoption Brad Pitt was her husband. Angelina Jolie and Brad’s first child (own) was born on 27th May 2006. Their daughter’s name was Shiloh Nouvel, she was born in Swakopmund. About a year later in 15th March Angelina Jolie and Brad adopted another son named Pax Thien (15th March 2007). Pax Thien was three at that time. Nearly a year after on 12th July 2008 Angelina Jolie gave birth of twins Knox Leon (son) and Vivienne Marcheline.
